“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:14

In this bible scripture, it was clearly stated that Jesus wants us to draw our kids near to God and to all His teachings. Why?

Simply because the kingdom of God is not just open for those who are already a believer but also for those who are innocent yet has the desire to learn more about God’s amazing stories of hope, love, and forgiveness.

However, many parents are considering this as a challenge for the reason that the young people these days are more focus on irrelevant things such as how to always be on trend and how to look cool to get the approval of the society.

That being said, while your kids are still young and unable to understand the majority of things around us, it is more appropriate if you will expose them to the use of Holy Bible in advance.

I know this may sound a little overwhelming to your part, but hey, there are bibles now that are specially made for kids. So for them to better understand who God is and how much He loves us, you can use the bible for kids or allow them to watch animated movies that tackle more about God.

Through the use of these materials, it will become much easier for you to teach your kids about the commandments of God and the real purpose of our life in this world.

Of course, you have to use simple and easy to understand words and ideas when talking to your kids so they can embrace the word of God with no ifs and buts.

Aside from giving them bible for kids and allowing them to watch animated bible stories, you can also initiate a game like answering all your questions related to the bible scriptures.

For an instance, you will let your kid/s to read verses from the book of Genesis. Then after reading it, ask them what is the message or teaching of that passage so that they will make an effort to fully understand what they have read about.

And if they’ve got the answer correctly, you can give them a simple token such as candies, chocolates, or anything that will make them more excited.

So as time passes by and they get used to these practices, you will no longer convince them to read the bible because they will be the first one now who will take the initiative in reading the bible.

All in all, if you want your kids to grow with a solid spiritual foundation in life, allow them to explore the Bible and to become part of every bible sessions in your church regardless of how young they are.

And if you think that you will find it hard to convince your child to read the bible every day, do oblige them to attend church activities or better yet, do fun religious activities inside your home that will surely get their attention.

Do this always until they consider this as part of their lifestyle. 🙂

To all our beloved parents, it’s not yet too late to introduce the word of God to your children. No matter how young or old they are now, there are lots of better ways on how you can motivate them to read the bible every day. It may look difficult at first, but you have to remember that difficult roads always lead to beautiful destinations.

Keep going and trust God’s plan.
