Faith in the Midst of Pandemic

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6

The unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19 has made a significant change in our lives. Entrepreneurs shut down their businesses; employees were laid off and lost their source of income due to the inability of the company owners to sustain the financial needs of their people. Uncertain times like these can truly put our faith to the test.

Sometimes it can be hard to stay motivated and hopeful, especially if things around you keep dragging you down. Your sanity will be at stake, somebody will shake your inner peace, and the worst part of it all is the sudden realization that things can quickly change.

The impossibles of life can happen in the most unexpected period of your life. But this is not the time for you to focus on the what-ifs of life, for it will just ruin the little happiness left in our hearts. Do you know what the best thing to do is? To continually hope for the best because this will help you and your loved ones to stay grounded.

Don’t Let Your Faith Be Shaken.

If you believe, you will see the glory of God. – John 11:40

The past two years have been marked with reflection and change. Our faith is being challenged at times, and sometimes we question ourselves if faith can save us or help us survive and thrive daily.

There are also some days in our life when we feel good about ourselves and the things around us. And there are days too when we think and feel strange for many personal reasons. But, whatever your current perception of the changes that we are still experiencing up to this moment, we have to embrace the fact that this is the new normal.

Things cannot go back to where and what it is supposed to be. Still, we should see these changes as an opportunity to become better. This “new normal” can serve as an opportunity to experience things that are out of our comfort zone. And a chance to feel more blessed and hopeful because things are coming our way unexpectedly.

Sometimes God’s blessings come in small packages. We may not notice these small pieces of stuff but always ask for God’s guidance for you to have an eye to see all these incredible blessings. Sometimes God’s gift is not in the form of an object or a thing you have asked for. Sometimes His blessings disguise as a work promotion, fast recovery of your loved one from sickness, or as simple as giving you another life to see a brand new day. Nevertheless, God is there for us. So don’t let your faith be shaken. God knows what’s best for us. Trust Him, and you’ll see what’s in store for you.

Trust God’s Timing

Your pain has a purpose. – Philippians 1:29

When it seems like He’s gone silent, always remember that He is preparing something beautiful for you. God’s power is limitless. He can make the impossible possible and can even control everything. So there’s always hope, even when you are at the lowest point of your life.

When God delays your dreams and plans, it only means that He is protecting and preparing you for the best. It doesn’t mean that He is denying you. It doesn’t mean that He is not listening to your heart’s desires or taking you for granted. Instead, God wants to hone you to make you stronger. He is preparing your way to the biggest blessing that will come to your life. You may not understand everything by now, but keep holding on. Do not lose your patience. Stay hopeful no matter how hard it is. Someday, everything will make sense. But for now, just know that God is God and that He knows what is best for us.

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord. – Psalm 27:14

Make your waiting time an opportunity to grow as a better person. When you’re feeling down, always think of God’s words and promises because His words are comforting. His words can move mountains and can even put you at ease. I understand that this is not an easy thing to do. But do not stop believing in what He can do for us. Stay grounded. Stay faithful and hopeful all the time.

And when your time has come, do not forget to thank God and inspire more people, for this is one of the best ways to see the brighter days ahead of us. Stay connected with God, and you will never feel alone in facing and embracing the new normal. Remember that the pandemic won’t last forever. But God is good, and His love endures forever.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9
