We always heard the fact that every couple should keep God at the center of their relationship because He is the one who will bind you together and who will make your relationship even stronger.
But since we are dealing with a very demanding way of life, most of our couples (married or not), tends to forget this very important principle in life because they would rather live a trendy and fancier life so that they can please the eyes of other people.
But hey, you have to remember that having a God-centered relationship is more beneficial than a relationship that is more focused on material and glamorous things. But I am not implying that you should stop having a glamorous life.
However, I am personally suggesting that both of you should live a simple life while keeping God at the center of your relationship because a simple life will give you a chance to prevent disappointments and frustrations for you are free from societal pressure.
And if you are free from societal pressure, then both of you will get a peaceful mind which leads to a God-centered relationship because the best way to feel the presence of God is to have a peaceful mind.
With this in mind, if you want to keep God at the center of your relationship, here’s what you need to do:
1. Always pray together.
Practice the habit of praying. Always start your day praying together. Whether your partner is not your side, both of you can still pray together by means of calling thru mobile phone.
Whatever or whenever you and your partner are, always pray together so that God will always guide your relationship and lead the both of you to the right path.
2. Read the Bible together.
It is very important for both of you to read the Bible together every day. Or if this is not applicable, at least twice or thrice a week. Every relationship should be covered and protected with the God’s word because this will help the both of you to realize the things that God has sacrificed and what God can do to make your relationship stronger and better.
So after reading the bible, always ask each other about his/her reflection about the bible verse or chapter that you have read to refresh your hearts and minds.
3. Worship God together.
Whatever is your religion or schedule of worship, always ensure that both of you will worship God together because this will not just give you a chance to have a God-centered relationship, but it will also help the both of you to develop a deeper love, contentment, and trust with each other which leads to a happy and stress-free relationship.
Overall, never forget to dedicate a special time for God because He is our only savior and whoever is praising and loving Him, will be saved.
